Led By Practitioners, Built For Practitioners
Unconventional Collaborative was founded by two people who refused to practice — or build a business — the ordinary way. Danielle Kepics and Marcus Corvino bring together clinical depth and operational rigor, so that every practitioner, coach, and trainer inside the collaborative gets the tools, information, and support to elevate their practice.
The origin story
Two Practitioners, One Question, No Playbook
Unconventional Collaborative wasn’t born in a boardroom or out of mere desire—it was forged out of necessity.
After eight years in conventional medicine as a board-certified Physician Assistant, Danielle Kepics began diving into functional medicine, uncovering clinical truths she simply couldn’t unsee. With a background spanning a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, personal training, fertility education, nutrition coaching, and functional diagnostic nutrition, Danielle’s career never fit neatly into a single box. She knew patient care became exponentially more effective when practitioners stopped staying in isolated silos and started connecting the dots.
However, stepping outside of the traditional medical system revealed a stark reality. As flawed as conventional medicine can be, it excels at providing an established support structure for the practitioners operating within it. Once on her own, a pivotal question emerged: “How do we find like-minded professionals to collaborate with and build a system that truly supports healing, growth, and education?”
It all started with a text message between Danielle and one of her peers: "I have this client who..."—followed by a comprehensive breakdown of symptoms, history, and a search for fresh perspective. One text led to many more. Both quickly realized they weren't the only ones refusing to settle for surface-level answers or "normal" labs. Across healthcare and wellness, there were clinicians, coaches, and trainers eager to ask deeper questions, dig for root causes, and truly go above and beyond for the people they served.
It turns out that if you build it, they will come. Genuine collaboration remains the single strongest engine for meaningful impact, and that vision became the bedrock of Unconventional Collaborative.

Danielle Kepics, PA-C, MS
Co-Founder & Co-Owner
Danielle Kepics is a board-certified Physician Assistant who has never been content asking only "what" — she wants to know "why." That question has shaped every credential she's earned and every practitioner she's mentored.
Danielle's path started in mental health counseling, where she learned to listen for what wasn't being said. It carried her into physician assistant training, and from there into functional and integrative medicine, where she found the missing piece: the body and the mind were never separate systems to begin with.
That combination — clinical training, psychological insight, and a functional lens — is what makes Danielle's approach to patient care, and to mentoring other practitioners, distinct. She doesn't collect credentials to decorate a bio. Every certification behind her name exists because a client's case demanded an answer she didn't yet have, and she went and found it. That's the same standard she brings to Unconventional Collaborative: if a practitioner in the collaborative hits a wall, the expectation isn't to guess. It's to dig until you find the root cause.
Known for a direct, no-fluff communication style — the same energy that fuels her podcast, Strong + Unfiltered — Danielle built Unconventional Collaborative to give other outspoken, root-cause-obsessed practitioners a place to think out loud, get real answers, and stop practicing in isolation.
Marcus Corvino, MBA
Co-Owner
Marcus Corvino brings a wealth of professional knowledge to the table, holding an MBA in Executive Management from West Virginia University and a career built across a wide range of business disciplines, including:
Area Sales
Project Management
Business Operations & Financial Leadership
Operations Management
He has contributed to major organizations such as Chesapeake Energy, Uber's Advanced Technologies Group, and Aptiv — specializing in turnaround and startup divisions where the margin for error is thin and the need for clarity is high. Today, Marcus owns and operates two successful businesses and works as a licensed financial advisor.
Marcus lives by a "simple is better" philosophy — a principle he sharpened early in his career, watching overly complex operations fail again and again for the same avoidable reasons. His Lean and Six Sigma training from Villanova University gave that instinct a framework, and he applies it to every business decision he makes. Inside Unconventional Collaborative, that means cutting through complexity so practitioners can focus on what actually moves their practice forward: efficiency, profitability, and staying power.
